About Robyn
Uvaŋa Niayuq, taniksiñiga Robyn Burke, Utqiaġvigmiuguruŋa, Aakaġa Fannie Kuutuuq Akpik, asii Aapaġa Joseph Kiŋiqtaq Akpik. Aqpikkuyaaglu Pikutquayaaglu.
I am from Utqiagvik. My grandmother was Fannie Kuutuuq Akpik, and my grandfather is Joseph Akpik. I come from the Akpik and Piquk families.
I am running for State House District 40, representing the North Slope Borough and Northwest Arctic Borough because the constituents of HD 40 deserve representation that prioritizes their needs above the needs of one person and above party lines.
I have had the privilege to serve on the North Slope Borough School District Board of Education for four years. As president for the last two years, I have also served as the secretary/treasurer on the Association of Alaska School Boards Board of Directors. I’ve served on various other boards, including the Voice of the Arctic Inupiaq, Ilisagvik Board of Trustees, and the steering committee for Nunaaqiuraat Tumitchiaŋit - Footprints of our Community, a quadrilateral committee focused on the betterment of education on the North Slope.
